MPAA Announces Lawsuits Against File-Sharers - The Motion Picture Association of America announced yesterday that it will begin suing Internet users who illegally share copyrighted movies and TV shows. CDT believes targeted enforcement actions are an unfortunate but appropriate part of efforts to combat widespread infringement online. CDT called on the MPAA to ensure its lawsuits target only the worst offenders, to accept reasonable settlements, and to expand legal online offerings of movies in flexible digital forms.
